Sexual Healing I
Sexual Healing I is for those suffering from sexual addiction and/ or relationship addiction. This 5-day workshop is designed to lay the foundation for successful recovery. Separate workshops are held for men and for women. Groups are limited to 4–6 participants and are led by trained psychotherapists.
Early recovery from sex and “love” addiction is an excruciatingly painful and confusing period for the recovering individual. He or she is filled with shame, fear, and frustration, and does not yet clearly see the nature of his or her addiction. Based in the addictions paradigm, this program helps participants identify their addictive patterns, explore the trauma that produced the addiction, and understand the shame-based view of reality that keeps the addict trapped in an on-going cycle of “acting out.” Addicts are not bad people who need to become good (the shame-based view), but rather wounded people who need to become well.
Treatment Goals
- Identify your particular addictive patterns, including addictive (obsessive) thoughts, as well as addictive (compulsive) behaviors
- Discover effective methods to intervene on your patterns
- Identify where you are in the stages of recovery
- Explore the roots of your addiction in the trauma and toxic messages of childhood
- Discharge carried feelings of shame through feelings reduction exercises
- Design a plan for aftercare and relapse prevention
Workshop Cost: $2500*
